Lymph Drainage Therapy

Lymph Drainage Therapy

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and organs which help to get rid of toxins and waste from the body. The main function of the lymphatic system is to transport lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting cells, throughout the body.

Inflammation and infection in the body can put extra strain on our lymphatic system and can cause the lymphatic fluid to get more ‘sticky‘. This can cause congestion making it harder for it to travel through the vessels.

Restrictions in the connective tissue (fascia) inside the body can also make it more challenging to transport this fluid. These restrictions can happen after surgery, injury or with long spells with poor posture.

Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) and certain massage techniques can help to move lymphatic fluids more freely in the body.

Here at CHC we offer extended sessions providing a complete approach to helping your lymphatic system whether it’s been challenged by recurrent infections, injury or lymphoedema following cancer treatment.

Our practitioners are highly trained and experienced in working with all of the above conditions.

What our patients say

“After a sports-related ankle injury, Francesca was able to address the affected area using Lymph Drainage Therapy. My GP was surprised as to how quickly this injury improved and I fully believe that it was due to this treatment that I was back and playing 5-a-sides in next to no time with no lasting damage!” - DM, Kilmarnock
